What did you search for online? I searched for:excel activex cannot insert
object and received 50,400 hits. many relate to an issue I encountered also. It
relates to an update Excel published that creates or modifies a file called:
MSForms.exd I usually search the C:\ drive for MSForms.exd and delete all
instances. usually I find it in:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\Excel8.0\MSForms.exd (note:  AppData is
usually a hidden folder! so you may have to manually navigate to this folder)
Reinstalling MSOffice doesn't help because this is a temp folder that isn't
really part of the installation. I'd try searching for and deleting thest
MSForms.exd files and see how it does.(if you're worried, simply rename the
files to something else like:MSForms.e and see if everything works correctly)

Hi
I have been experiencing this error recently in Excel 2007. Whenever try to add
any ACTIVEX buttons to my worksheet I get an error "cannot insert object". The
screenshot is attached here. I have reinstalled office but the error is still

the other hand work perfectly fine. Please help me.
