Well things seem to be working fine now, though I don't know why. I went
in and turned off 'Secure Password Authentication' on the Outlook2000
client, and change the 'Exchange Server Service' on the client from
'None'to 'NT Password Authentication' and it started to work
Exchange Server 5.5, Outlook 2000 SR-1 (9.0.0.5414).
Recent events required a configuration change to our Exchange Server
v5.5.2653.23 to require 'Secure Password Authentication'
I have tried a slew of combinations on the "Servers" tab of the particular
'Internet E-mail' sevice for the "Account
