Just for some background, we use Tivoli TSM to backup our servers -- the
data is transferred over the network to a tape robot, and is stored on

Those are the logfiles. Do not delete them. You need to run an Exchange
aware backup program. That will commit the logs and then flush them

Right now it's a test server that's coming productive. We will back it
up with BackupExec Exchange Agent. If I understand you right: The
logfiles will be commited and deleted as soon as we back it up - and
Exchange will understand that we are backing it up?

I have a Xchange2000 Server running on a W2K Server SP2.
I have found in the program folder under .\MDBDATA dozens of logfiles
named Exx.log. They use a huge amount of my Disk. I cannot find any
explanaiton for these logfiles in MS's knowledgebase. What are they for
