Some Windows 95B clients running Outlook 2000 connecting to our Exchange 2000 server apparently lose permissions to their own Exchange mailbox after viewing another user's shared mailbox (Calendar, Contacts, etc.). When the user right-clicks on their Mailbox in the Folder View and selects Properties, the Permissions tab is missing, and is replaced by a tab that is called "Summary." When clicking on the Summary tab, the user receives another error saying "The summary page box could not be displayed. The client operation failed."
This does not happen with every client machine we have, but it always happens with the same people. If an additional mailbox is opened under the advanced settings under the Exchange Server Service in the mail control panel, then the users cannot create new emails, receiving an error "Cannot create the e-mail message because a location to send and recieve messages could not be found. To add a location..." If the other mailbox is not opened automatically via the Folder view, and rather opened manually by going to File, Open, Other User's Folder, then after an e-mail is created it cannot be sent. The user receives a message "The operation failed." This is one hell of a problem. Basically, the user has to exit Outlook and come back in to "regain" permissions to their own mailbox. The machines have MS Networking client installed, but are logging in with MS Client for Novell as the primary logon. All the passwords on Novell and AD are sync'ed. Anybody got any clues??? -Alex _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
