Just further to this issue. Emailed hotmail and asked if they currently
use any lists to ban IP addresses (this host had at one stage been an open
relay/proxy, long long ago). They claim that they dont use any lists and
dont ban any IP addresses.

Sure enough, it works from my office, but not from theirs. We rebooted the
ADSL router, still not working tho. Even using IP addresses it still wont
talk on port 25 to the hotmail

You can do an NSLOOKUP to get the IP if you need it. Also, if NSLOOKUP
comes back empty, then Exchange's DNS lookups are also coming back empty
