Epiphany is a period in the Christian calendar. I think it's January 6th.
And speaking of viruses and holidays, has anyone else noticed
how Klez changes for some holidays? How else can you explain
messages like Have a humour Epiphany, which only turn up in
early January?
Er, yes, I know that. What I was remarking on was the fact that Klez seems to know it
as well.

Is anyone else out there noticing a higher level of virus activity in
the last week or so? Our gateway scanner has been catching an
increasing number of viruses over the last week. I am also
seeing a few
that we haven't seen in quite a while. I am not concerned,
just curious
if others

Actaully, apparently December 25th and January 1 were great times to release
viruses. At least one of the largest AV vendors sent an email to all their
customers telling them flat out that their virus labs would

might have been java stuff. I got about 150 alerts from my AV box. Mostly

What is it that is being reported by Antigen? If it is Klez then that
would not surprise me. My perimeter has been hammered by Klez for some
time now (about 15-20k a day...which is more then the 2-4k I normally
see).

Importance: High
The message doesn't have a virus, just a malformed MIME header, and once the
attachment has been stripped, the virus scanner doesn't see that as being a problem.
The way around this is to stop file filtering in your SMTP scan, instead doing
messages and find out where they were really coming
from.

If that's true that was a good, smart move. We're still running 6.2 so I
can't confirm.
