In the client specify the account in the format:

Domain\User_ID\Mailbox_Alias

Forward slashes are also acceptable, even required for some clients that
don't like backslashes like some versions of Netscape Mail.  And make
sure you've entered the password correctly.  If this is configured
wrong, you can quickly lock the account when the client retries.

hello..
i have several instancess that several of my users are checking thier
email, the pop3 client does not recognize the password and then it ends
up locking up their email accout.. any ideas..
