We are in the process of doing the ever continuing process of upgrading (is a mother's work ever done?)from Exchange Sp3 to SP4 and ScanMail 3.0 to 3.52 and in doing my research I came across a readme in the Scanmail 3.52 manual and emailed tech support at TrendMicro(in which they where very helpful....I know that someone from TrendMicro monitors this list....that sound you just heard was the sound of the suckup bird;-). My question is (if I understand the way exchange routes internet email),that the reg entry as is (with the "1" in it) would reroute mail back thru the store before it was delivered, but with a "0" its turning it off.? Problem/Question: Issue with outgoing attachments passing thru the IMC and Scanmail for Exchange 3.52. Explanation: Regarding this issue that is stated in our README file: "We recommend installing ScanMail on a server that does not have the IMC (Internet Mail Connector) installed. During testing we found some issues with outgoing Internet mail messages containing attachments, which are routed to Exchange for delivery, being lost due to the Exchange Anti-Virus Scan API. Microsoft is aware of the issue and is working to provide a patch." The lost mail problem is caused by HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIMC\Parameters\RerouteviaSt ore set to 1. All you need to do is change the value to 0 and restart IMC Service and you won't have to worry about the Lost mail. ScanMail for Exchange designed to be installed on a Mail Server and not on a bridgehead server that only routes mail. It is ok to install it on a Bridgehead Server but any mails that passes only thru the connector and be routed to other server will not be scanned. Only mails going to the local Information Store/ mailboxes located on the said Exchange Server will be scanned. \\\___/// \\ - - // (--@-@--) +-----------------oOOo-(_)-oOOo------------------+ | \\_////|\\\\_// | |John M.
