In pointing the Recovery Storage Group to another server with enough disk space, it says that it needs to be a fixed disk. Is there anyway around this? If not, I guess I will have to build a recovery server instead of using the Recovery Storage Group. [Dick] Stick a USB drive in ??

In my personal experience, I've only ever done it prior to decommissioning a server and wanting to run an on-line dump before hand. E.g. no point in backing up 400GB of whitespace. See the link for a far more technical discussion
