I agree, although some of us less fortunate don't have the ability to buy new hardware, so what we do is find a low-end server or high-end desktop and temporarily move Exchange 5.5 production to it. Rebuild the former 5.5 to 2000, then migrate the server. So your on a lower powered machine for

I installed Windows 2000 SP3, then Exchange 2000 SP3 on our 'test' production box (it's a desktop configured equal to our production server) It had the following to Post-SP2 hotfixes on it: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q320436 (Malformed Mail Attack)
