No Exchange 2010 object requires an X 400 address to function and X 400 is 
never needed for connectivity unless you install an X 400 connector hosted on 
an Exchange 2003 server to communicate to some legacy email system that still 
can’t talk SMTP.

Over the years we’ve gone from 5.5 to 2003 to 2010.  Our Default Email Address 
Policy still has X400 on it as well as SMTP.

Do we still need this?

We have no apps that use X400 so the only need will be if Exchange has some 
internal legacy dependency that requires it.

We only have Exchange 2010 servers, the 2003 boxes are long gone.
