Figures since that's exactly how it works...;-) If you set an externalURL
Exchange thinks you are telling it that the server is externally available and
will try and hand out/redirect the user to that URL instead of proxying

Tim,
Double check and make sure that your new server has an external site url
assigned for OWA. For some reason your Exchange box in the new site
isn't correctly determining AD site
that, OWA and activesync just worked
