Title: Outlook 2002/Exch 2K client access problems
Make sure the users have user rights on the recipient container so they can search the GAL and login internally

Subject: Outlook 2002/Exch 2K client access problems

I've been running several Win2K native domains for almost 2 years. A couple of days ago I got Exchange 2000 and installed it on one of my newer domains. The installation went ok, and I also applied SP1. The whole process took almost 2 hours. Exch2K is installed on a Win2K member server.

Users can access Exchange via webmail with no problems. They can e-mail other domain users and everything works fine. But the problem is getting Outlook 2002 (running on Win2K pro) to connect using Exchange. When I try to add an Exchange service and resolve the name I get: The name could not be resolved. The name could not be matched to a name in the address list.

I found TechNet article Q257885 which addresses this exact error message. So I followed the directions and rebooted the GC server. I have two AD DCs for this small domain. After the reboot, the clients are still getting the error message. I've rebooted/restarted the Exchange server (which is a separate box from the DCs) and that didn't help either.

So right now I'm in a pickle, and my users can't start using the new server. Does anyone have an idea of what's wrong? Are there any DNS or LDAP entries that I can check for?
