Follow up: I had to switch DNS on both servers, to look at each other instead of themselves first. Once I did this everything went through. Weird that it worked for about 2 days.

We migrated mailboxes over the weekend and everything seemed okay, we are using the old SBS 08 box still as the routing and inbound mail connector. This morning we are getting 4.5.0 errors between both boxes about authentication and 2.5.0 errors on the incoming side saying the server responded with a bunch of random characters in the string. I rebooted both boxes to no avail, I checked AD sites/services both server are listed as GC. I can make the switch for mail on the old server and new server fairly quickly but still have @ 50 emails in the old server queue pending delivery.
