Title: RE: public folder DL subscription
Thanks for the effort though.

Anyone else have any idea why this may be happening?

Thanks,
Paul

I'm stumped - we use 5.5 & it shows different unread views depending on who's looking at it.

Sorry.  :-(

Yea under the folder list.  Navigating to Public Folder > All Public Folders > Discussion Lists > Exchange Administration
(Which is the folder for this list obviously) :)

This 2k SP1

That's not the way it behaves here on our system.

How are you both accessing this public folder?

Well,   when I am viewing the public folder, and my co-worker is viewing it as well,  I can click on a message in the public folder, and the bold will dissapear on mine, and will dissapear on his.  Just makes it a little difficult for individuals who read the list to know which messages are new and which are old.

Huh?  Everyone who views a public folder sees different bold items, yes?  ::confused::

Ok,  I have it setup and I'm receiving mail now.  Only thing that is kind of annoying is not knowing what mail is new and what is old.  Since everyone can view it,  the bold on new messages dissapears after anyone has viewed it.  Anyway around this?  Also,  is there a way to have exchange automatically delete messages after they are a certain number of days old, so it doesn't get too full?

Thanks,
Paul

Yes, no mail will work. That's how I have it set up. Don't forget to make the default permissions with at least create or you won't get any mail.

Ok,  I noticed the Mail Enable option for the public folder.  So subscribe that email to the list as normal (reviece messages as they are contributed).  Then subscribe the users who want the be subscribed to the list as either Digest correct?  Would nomail work as well for the individual users?

Create the public folder. Subscribe to the list with the address of the
public folder, remembering to subscribe the public folder to receive all
emails. Subscribe those individuals that would also like to post to the
list, but subscribe with digest only.

It was mentioned that it could be done on this list a while back,  but I
am not sure how.  I want to create a public folder, and subscribe that
public folder to a discussion list, such as this one,  instead of
everyone who wants to belong to this list, get the email, thus created
duplicate emails among several mailboxes.  How can this be done?  I am
guessing I need to create another user/email address that will be used
to receive all these?  That correct?  And then how to actually subscribe
that public folder with the new email, or whatever.

Thanks,
Paul
