Bug ID: 2813 Summary: exim-4.95: unable to send mail, no host name found loop Product: Exim Version: N/A Hardware: x86 OS: All Status: NEW Severity: bug Priority: medium Component: Networking Assignee: unalloca...@exim.org Reporter: grob...@gentoo.org CC: exim-dev@exim.org since Exim 4.95, mail cannot be sent from clients, logfile produces large amounts of: 2021-10-03 10:03:44 no host name found for IP address 2001:X 2021-10-03 10:03:44 no host name found for IP address 2001:X 2021-10-03 10:03:44 no host name found for IP address 2001:X 2021-10-03 10:03:44 no host name found for IP address 2001:X 2021-10-03 10:03:44 no host name found for IP address 2001:X 2021-10-03 10:03:44 no host name found for IP address 2001:X 2021-10-03 10:03:44 no host name found for IP address 2001:X .... this keeps on repeating until the client times out The exact same configuration on Exim 4.94.2 works fine, producing a single "no host name found" log. It seems the repetition is somewhat random, I sometimes see IPv6 addresses get through fine, and sometimes IPv4 addresses being reported twice. Looking through the logs, on Exim 4.94.2 I never saw the "no host name found" message multiple times for a single connection, unlike with Exim 4.95. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. -- ## List details at https://lists.exim.org/mailman/listinfo/exim-dev Exim details at http://www.exim.org/ ##
