Is there a simple way of making Exim say to all inbound mailservers say
smth like:
422 Maintenance, please try again later
exim.org is dead meat at the moment, I can't even search the docs..

That's because (iirc) passwd.client is a Debian specific file. Have a look at
http://pkg-exim4.alioth.debian.org/README/README.Debian.html

My web server and email server are the same.
I don't know what to look for in the web logs.
I just looked in the acces_log and find one GET on awstats cgi that
doesn't seems abnormal.
Could you help me ?

It took out the mailing list too ;) The same server was completely
unreachable for the day so I'm guessing they did some sort of maintenace
or had a catastrophic failure. Haven't seen or heard anyt
