Hi,
I'm hosting email for a handful of 'virtual' domains.
There is more than one MX for the domains:- the "final destination"
which sits on my adsl line, and another "backup-MX" under my control
permanently hosted elsewhere.
The backup-MX currently uses recipient callout's to validate the loca
Dear list,
to my spam score ACL I added a second condition to get different thresholds
per domain:
deny message = This message seems to be spam. Spam score is $spam_score
points. If you think this is an error, contact the recipient directly.
spam = nobody:true
condition = "${if and { \
I think, there's no need to split the list.
I'm surely a exim newbie, exim gracefully handles most of the job without my
help.

joined the list to get help on specific topics- and I found help).
The list suffers from a w
Dear list,
after searching the archives and faqs, my question keeps unanswered:
What is the (best) way, to use the fake reject control?
As my rcpt_acl starts with a lot of drops/denies (not without a reason),
where should I implement the 'control=fakereject' to get all the unknown

I will change the config now according to Marc's hint.
Getting a copy of the DSN is somehow a lazy attitude of mine. Instead of
inspecting the headers of bouncing messages, I could have the reason for a
bounce at first sight: Unknown user [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Between any other stuff, that arrives at
Agh, many thanks for opening my eyes on that. I'm glad about exim's
acls, so most of the spammers/virusbots were blocked before my machine
spreaded dumb bounces.
You're right, I have to retire these routers immediately.
But then: How can I achieve my policy, to

Just the same here and a lot of them.
My special problem: The faked addresses are non existant, and I get the
following frozen messages from my own mailer-daemon for every single bounce:

In my rcpt acl I already use:
dropmessage= Recipient unknown
!verify= recipient
delay = ${eval: ($rcpt_fail_count + 1) * 1}m
And later on:
accept local_parts= postmaster
domains= +local_domains
Do you think the above one causes the t

My acl_check_rcpt contains " require verify = sender", or do you think about
something else?
Thanks

Dear list,
using Exim 4.5.1 with a MySQL-backend, I ran into a problem when the
recipients-header contained a single quote.
Single quote garbles my SQL-syntax for the recipients mailaddress-lookup in
the database.
Exim replies to the sender: "Temporary local problem - please try later",
