It could very well be that I'm missing something here, but I think I
found a bug, or at least something that's documented wrong.
Consider the following config, stripped down to the necessary stuff:
# === start config
MYSQL_SERVER=localhost
MYSQL_USER=root
MYSQL_PASSWORD=
MYSQL_DB=
hide
or file redirect or something like that)
