Is this file readable by the exim user?
Yes, I have tried all sorts of permissions - including world rwx
strace but really, having never used it before, I have no
idea at all what the output means. Can you point me in the direction of
a website that tries to explain the output or what sort of thing i will
be looking for.
Thanks again,

Just a quick question,
Is is possible, in a router, to specify unseen only if certain
conditions are met.
i.e. the router will not always be unseen but whether it is or not will
depend on some pre-defined condition (in my case a mysql lookup).

and how can I retain the actual
from address of the customer to send the autoresponder to?
I have included the appropriate routers, transports and (just in case)
SMTP Auth ACL below.
Thanks,

Hi there,
Try Courier IMAP (www.courier-mta.org) which includeds a POP3 server and
support LDAP.
You do have to use maildir format for storage but its better anyway.

Maildir is only better on unloaded servers. Best is to use a message store

## List details at http://www.exim.org/mailman
Thanks to both of you, think I've got it now.
What exactly are you trying to do?
I am just trying to force SMTP auth for all clients, and suspect that
adding hosts_require_auth to the SMTP transport will do the trick.
Just need to pin down the SQL now and I'll be done.
