Thanks Bill,
Quite right it's no train smash!
The msgs causing the issue are coming from a web server who's IP will not
reverse lookup to the domain of the sender email, so likely to be stopped by
anyone using an RDNS lookup - which I imagine hotmail are.
I just want to totally clear ;)
Cheers
ok, I have:
log_selector = +all -all_parents -queue_run -arguments
in my:
02_exim4-config_options
and have restarted:
/etc/init.d/exim4 restart
But still only get this for each entry:
2006-11-17 20:02:55 1Gl9vJ-0005F8-Kf => [EMAIL PROTECTED] R=dnslookup
T=remote_smtp H=mx4.hotmail.com [65.54
Thank you all very much for your help.

Thanks, that was my suspicion.
Although now not relevant to *this* issue, the initial post still stands - I
would like to know how to increase the level of detail in the 'mainlog',
just FMI.
Can you direct me to a good tutorial/howto/wiki ?
Best

But the message never arrives in the hotmail acct, I'm hoping a little more
log detail will glean the reason.
All other TLD's are fine.
Best
