I run mandrake on my laptop and now that I have my sound card working,
everything works perfectly. Its a Quantex 1331 with 80 Megs of ram, 266 Pll,
4 gig hardrive, 13.3 xga tft screen, pc card modem, cs4232 sound card,
toshiba cd rom, touch pad mouse.

The only program I ever use from it is genhdlst when I download an updated
package to my local mirror, but there is a lot more stuff there, and I'm
trying to save a little space and bandwidth.
Are the object files (.o) are useful for *anything*?

Personnally i just put the ethernet card, the cable modem.
I install the distro with "dhcp"
And that's all . The techie tooks a lot's of time for Windows..
