No, these depend on a currently non existent AMD 760MP chipset. This is
due out sometime within the next two quarters.
Currently, there are no options for dual processor AMD systems. These are
expected to be out before Intel can figure out how to get their P4 to run
in SMP mode though.
I sorta know how you feel. My drakconf is out of commision also. But I
think it has more to do with kde upgrades than the kernel. At least the
2.4.3-13mdk fixed my memory problems. All my hardware was already set up, so
I'm ok for now. However, next week I'm installing a nic card and it
Unfortunately, I had to elect to reinstall everything. I am now in the
process of downloading a bunch of src rpms to bring back kde 2.1.1,
kernel-2.4.3, XFree86-4.0.3, and several other things. It will be a long day
tomorrow rebuilding a working system.

Would some kind person be prepared to supply some insight?
In the statement mkinitrd /boot/[name of image] [new kernel version]
I am starting with [name of image] = initrd-2.4.0.img but I am increasingly

Up until about a week ago I've been able to print just fine from Kmail.
Suddenly out of the blue I get a "Error:/undefined in FE22

I am presently in the late process of rebuilding my system. I reinstalled
Mandrake 7.2 and am now upgrading beyond 7.2, but not quite to 8.0. I am
trying to do this cleanly and systematically.
I am about to switch to glibc2.2, rebuild my kernel, rebuild XFree86, and
then, I would like to

I am trying to start a linux group in a little town call Fukushimaken,

Myself and many others have had problems upgrading to kde 2.1 from 2.0.1,
even though we're all using .rpm files. I have seen a few FAQs on the web
on how to do this, but none that I've seen remarked about getting any
errors that prevent such an upgrade.
I run a mailing list on my machine and
By "community" do you mean an online community? If that's the case, I've
heard good things about PHPNuke (phpnuke.org, I think) and it should be
easy to setup from an out-of-the-box Mandrake install.
Good luck,

well, you need to do some manual editing of the httpd.conf file...
You need to add this line where it says:
#To use CGI script:
(AddHandler cgi-script .cgi .pl) without the parenthesis,of course
anywhere in the main config.
then in each users public_html or www directory config,at bottom:

and had to launch install using text-based
interface. everything goes fine until
it asks for root password, which nicely
accepts, but never
What's the difference? Can 'delete'd files still be recoverable by

Thanks,

Well, they say that the only way to be 100% certain is to steamroller the
