I have DELL Latitude CPiA and I had the same problem in Mandrake 6.1
This was solved when I reconfigured and recompiled kernel.
In Mandrake 7.0 all is OK.

when running "faxrunq" then program exits with comment:
/usr/sbin/sendfax: not a class 2/2.0 fax modem

Exactelly, as I know, from 2.2.10 all kernels have this possibility... BUT!
not for all chipsets.
For me (HPT366) there is only the patch, AND no possibility to boot from
this disk!
So I must wait untill the developpement of driver for this chipset finish...
