New to Mandrake, running 9.1 kernel-2.4.21.0.13 on a Dell C600 laptop.
I've got a Xircom PCMCIA Cardbus Ethernet+56K modem. Had it working with RedHat 9 using xircom_cb module.
I don't exactly know why, but the card is detected by Mandrake is being two different cards: One ethernet 10/100 cardbus , and one ethernet+56k cardbus. When I run MCC and go to HW I see that "they" are detected as having different bus id's and different location in the bus, but Mandrake recognizes the Cardbud Ethernet only using module xircom_tulip_cb, and has the "other" Cardbus Ethernet + 56K modem in the Unknown/Others section correctly using the xircom_cb module.
This obviously creates a problem as I can't configure/find the modem for the Xircom. My idea would be to somehow erase the "Cardbus Ethernet only" incarnation and unload the xircom_tulip_cb, and configure the correct Eth+modem with xircom_cb.
My problems are:
* Is this a valid startegy to follow?
* How to do this in Mandrake, and how to do this so that Mandrake doesn't redectect the "Eth only" card at next boot with kudzu and destroys everything I do?
Thanks for any/all help! --
