What can I do to boost hard disk performance. I've got /, /usr/local,
and /home set up as ReiserFS partitions, and /boot as ext2 (that little
trick let me upgrade my kernel in 7.1 without the ReiserFS filesystem
work-around, so I kept with it).
I can't verify it until I find the rpm
Yes, but -21 is out already. I'd go with that one. I had trouble with -18 (
no kernel-specific initrd.img)

Thanks Óscar. Following the suggestions of others, I had already set a couple

It helps if you know what the root name of the rpm you want is. For example,
gtkdialogs, rep-gtk, rep-gtk-gnome, rep-gtk-libglade, etc.
I know for sure that the rep-gtk ones are there in Mandrake-specific rpm's;
I've downloaded them myself.
Not sure which ones you are looking for, but make
I had the same problem, sans the modprobe error. It confounded me for some

Check your /etc/init.d/rc0.d and /etc/init.d/rc6.d directories for links to
killall - mine is S00killall in both directories. On my machine they are
links to ../init.d/killall.

The only thing I really don't like about nEdit is that the editing
window is always white. In gEdit you can change the window color.
