I would like to log the uptime of our systems, just I cannot see into the future to expect when a system crashes so an aproach that logs, like 1 time per hour should do it. I guess you could run a crontab script that just cat's the uptime output into /var/log/uptime This however will be

I have a network where all printers are to be controlled by one printserver I'm using Cups together with Samba and authenticating user under our NT domain. My problem is that when NT users are trying to print, all jobs enter the cups/page_log with names = nobody How do I change my samba

If you compare iptabels of 2.4 with OpenBSD's netfilter you notice something is wrong when it comes to logging. OpenBSD does logs very easily and with a lot of info, just what you expect from a firewall. BUT!!! I cannot get any info out of iptables, just a little tiny bit. Say, how do you log

Yes It is not that difficult. The Mandrake package comes with a default caching setup, which is nice for ppp users. If you want something more advanced, the HOWTO (see www.linuxdoc.org) is pretty good and explains things pretty well. Maybe www.mandrakeuser.org has some introductory coments.
