All these mailers envoke /usr/lib/sendmail for each message sent. Port 25
is only used when sendmail is running as a daemon and therfore the above
mailers will work.

Do the following:
cd /etc/rc.d/rc2.d
./S80sendmail stop
mv ./S80sendmail ./_S80sendmail
Your mail tool (assuming SMTP) calls /usr/lib/sendmail every time you
send a message. The daemon is not necessary if you want to send mail.
