Try:
$ nslookup
ls some.domain.com
You can't do this on other people's DNS' unless they've been set up

Tony, please let me know how it goes. If there is a problem with
16mdk, we need to know and get it fixed ASAP. I'm going to
be testing
it here as well, so I'll see if I can reproduce your error.
FYI... I just tried 16mdk on a 6.0 system and didn't experience any
problems,
Haven't noticed anyone replying correctly to this, so I'll tell you the
solution .. at least it solved my problem which sounds like the same. For
some reason my locale didn't get installed .. so I just did an rpm -Uvh on
locales-en-2.3-3mdk.noarch.rpm .. this fixed the problem. Of course,
I have configured a firewall using pmfirewall on mandrake 7.1
All goes well, but i have a problem : sometimes when i try to list the
rules with 'ipchains -L', the list seems to freeze in the middle for an
undetermined amount of time. This is not a reproductible effect, and it
does not occur

After re-reading the GPL it does state that there is no absolute

there only

Sorry I couldn't be of any better help... but at eleast you've succeded in
figuring out exactly what's not working.
Thanks anyway.
Maybe you can just add klogd to the cron.daily and cron restart
it for you.
That's what I've done. Seems to be working fine.
I have no idea why klogd should
to klogd since restarting that
restarts the messages.
Looks like I'll just restart it every night for now.
Thanks for all the help.

I'm looking at setting up a mail server but I'm a bit confused
Or a missing CGI script line...
print "Content-type: text/html\n\n";
This must be *the* first line printed out, and note the 2 "\n\n".
This is only true for those not using the CGI.pm module.
But even those using CGI.pm must include something like:
print CGI::header();
Cheers,
Tony
An alternative, and perhaps easier method is simply to enable both
"Host-Only" and "Bridged" networking in the VM. Then you will have direct
access to the Ethernet card from the VM and can even get an I.P. address via
DHCP.
Tony.
