Autofs in Mandrake 9.0 mounts drives automatically, but does not unmount
them when timeout expires. They must by umounted manually.
Anyone else can confirm this?

i configured the 2.4.3-20mdk kernel for my needs (duron opt), usb, and some
other minor
features, compiled it as described on mandrakeuser.org (with modules and
everything) (it doesnt work when changing the extra-version number in
makefile, as described on mandrakeuser.org!!), everything

i suppose lm8 uses imwheel and the /etc/imwheel.rc.
I looked at the man imwheel and, uff, i dont get a single word of it.
Can anyone tell me which option to change, so that a wheel scroll
doesnt scroll a page up or down but only 3 lines a time?

I did Interactive-Bastile and set up everything. www,
pop3,smtp,irc,everything works fine. I also have a win client who shares
my cable connect with masquerading which works fine too on eth0.
But I need to allow icmp echo requests from my proxy server (if i dont answer

i installed the [kernel].rpm from nvidia's website for lm 8.0.
it didnt work for me, no modules found.
i now want to try the rebuilt driver from mandrakeuser.org.
but when i do rpm --erase [nvidia].rpm it says : no such installed.
when i do rpm -ivh [nvidia].rpm after that to test, it says:

i cant resolve my fixed font not found problem.
after reboot x wont start and i try everything, after
some time it starts, but i cant figure out what exactly

i installed mandrake 8.0 without servers.
i configured tiny firewall (everything no) with the mandrake control
tool. i set security high in this tool, but he doesnt remember that. when
logged in as a root this is set to high.
