I just updated from Mandrake 7,02 to 7,1 with no problems at all on
2 year old hardware. It took less than 1 hour and I like the
bubbles. What would champagne be without the bubbles? In my opinion,
an excellent distribution which sets a target for the others to aim

Some motherboards use 'normal' RAM for their videochipset operation.
The amount reserved for video use can often be from 4-8 megabytes.
Suggest you try append="mem=120M" then run /sbin/lilo

This problem has been experienced by others installing 7.0-2 in
addition to yourself.
The most common solution seems to have been swapping the cdrom drive
for another for install purposes. Hope that this is a possibility
for you and that someone else has a better suggestion.

We connect to Netware from Linux at my work but there is no support for NDS ie it is
via the bindery.
I have been told this week however that software is being developed which will allow
Linux to connect
via NDS. I hope that it is true.

It is a known bug in mandrake 6.1. The bug is absent in mandrake 7.0
which is no consolation I know.

This discussion is a little amazing to me because every day in my work I use LILO to
choose whether to boot
NT 4 Service Pack 5 or RedHat Linux 6.1. LILO works fine.
