I have been trying to solve a problem with Linux finding my Adaptec scsi host card for several weeks now without success. I am aware of the fact that there has been a problem with the 2.4 kernel (I can find the card using modprobe and the 2.2 kernel in Mandrake 7.1).
I have tried to install a new version of Mandrake (8.2 beta) which has the 2.4..17 kernel and ran mod probe with no success. I have searched high an low and have not been able to find a straight forward answer to fixing this problem. Is there no solution yet...should I just go back to the older kernel?
