I need advice how to get XFree86-4.0.x to work in 3D with my Banshee graphics card. Several alternatives are possible!? 1. Stay with Glide_V3 & Device3Dfx as with 3.3.x. Does this still work? 2. Download Glide_V3-DRI, tdfx_dri & tdfx_drm from linux.3dfx.com and following instructions there. 3. Stay with Glide_V3-DRI-cvs & XFree86-4.0.1 with glide-module. This combination does not work. I'm getting X server hangs. 4. Upgrade to the Glide_V3-DRI-cvs & XFree86-4.0.1g from the development dirctories. (4.0.1g runs like charm on my debian-woody box with a G400.) 5. Other solutions/suggestions?
