[expert] Hostname does not stay changed

I have a standalone PC running Mandrkae 7.2 with kde 2. When I enter the command "hostname" I get the default localhost.localdomain I can change it to what I want with the command " hostname whatever.something" which correctly changes the hostname but only for that session. When I reboot, the

Thank you. That did it. I can change it to what I want with the command " hostname whatever.something" which correctly changes the hostname but only for that session. When I reboot, the hostname changes back to the default localhost.localdomain. How can I make the changes stick?
