I tried to access my windows share on local network with Konqueror and I see some problem with Long File names and file names with mixed case names. For example, if I enter a URL smb:/win1/ in Konq. location bar, it asks me for user name and password. When I enter that it shows me the windows shares. I click on one of the shares and Konq shows the whole directory listing. I have long file names in this directory. One directory for example is "Internet Downloads". Konq. shows this as "INTERNE~". If I click on that name to see the directory contents, it complains that no such directory exists. But if I enter the complete URL with that directory name as 'smb:/win1/cdrive/Internet Downloads' it works properly. How do I tell konqueror to show the long file names properly, instead of DOS 8.3 format. Other observation is that if I mount that windows share with usual mount command and browse Konq shows everything properly with long file names. Can somebody help?
