The story is I trashed lilo when nav rewrote the mbr. No problem, I will use
my boot disk... which I did not bother to make. Well then I used the  cd to
boot the system and used rescue but could never run lilo with the results I
needed. There is probably a way... I don't know. Then I decided that I could
just install over my unreformated partition a subset of what I already had
and when if got to the end rerun lilo and wala. This worked however, this
produced multiple entries into the rpm database. The problem is that now I
can not get rpm to remove them because of the multiple entries. I have tried
to use rpm --rebuilddb but this did not remove them. I tried to use rpm
--initdb but this gives you an empty rpm database. Is there any way to parse
the entries in the  database and put the valid entries into the new database
or clean out the dups from the original db??

Thanks,

Joe
