I'm actually not a newbie, and this is embarrasing to ask, but here goes. I added the following to /etc/rc.d/rc.local: PILOTRATE=115200 export PILOTRATE However env does not show this var as being set after I login. Why??? Shouldn't this var now be set for every user unless it is overwritten by
