A little hand-holding is requested here. I don't really know what I am doing when it comes to "dba"ing.
Postgresql was upgraded with mdk8.2, and doesn't start because there is an existing earlier-version database - fair enough. However, the instructions for fixing this are for upgrading from a 6.x version of postgres - my database is 7.0. Trying to extrapolate from these instructions points me to dump programs that don't seem to exist on my system. How can I upgrade my database to run with postgres 7.2? (I am sending this from work, the problem is on a home machine.)
