I got the system to boot after passing "linux nobiospnp". I edited /etc/lilo.conf as instructed. Then I executed /sbin/lilo and got this: Warning: /dev/sda is not on the first disk Added linux * Added linux-nonfb Added failsafe Added floppy So I rebooted anyway and got the "LI" and the system hung. BTW, /dev/sda is my boot disk with /dev/hda designated /home. This is what I get when I execute mount: /dev/sda1 on / type ext2 (rw) none on /proc type proc (rw) devfs on /dev type devfs (rw) none on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,mode=0620) none on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw) /dev/hda1 on /home type ext2 (rw) /dev/sda6 on /usr type ext2 (rw) /dev/sda7 on /var type ext2 (rw) /proc/bus/usb on /proc/bus/usb type usbdevfs (rw,devmode=0664,devgid=43) /dev/fd0 on /mnt/floppy type msdos (rw)
