Hi everybody,

I successfully installed two servers with 7.0 (air).

Congratulations to Mandrake people, the install process was perfect
for me!

I am currently dealing with Samba on one of these servers and have
two problems :

1/ some of the Windows PCs trying to log to the samba services are
presenting accentuated names as logins and I can't have them
authenticated (I tried aliasing the login in /etc/smbusers with
the unix accentuated version, the windows-as-seen-from-unix
accentuated version and the accent free version).

2/ while exploring logs in order to fix my accent problem I found
these lines in /var/log/samba/log.smb to appear each time I
   restarted the smbd daemon:

<<
[2000/02/03 13:25:50, 0] smbd/server.c:sig_hup(342)
  Got SIGHUP
[2000/02/03 13:52:48, 0] lib/util_sock.c:set_socket_options(148)
Failed to set socket option SO_KEEPALIVE (Error Mauvais descripteur de fichier)
[2000/02/03 13:52:48, 0] lib/util_sock.c:set_socket_options(148)
Failed to set socket option TCP_NODELAY (Error Mauvais descripteur de fichier)
[2000/02/03 13:52:48, 0] lib/util_sock.c:set_socket_options(148)
Failed to set socket option SO_RCVBUF (Error Mauvais descripteur de fichier)
[2000/02/03 13:52:48, 0] lib/util_sock.c:set_socket_options(148)
Failed to set socket option SO_SNDBUF (Error Mauvais descripteur de fichier)
>>

Where "Mauvais descripteur de fichier" is the french translation for "bad file
descriptor". The corresponding Samba config file options are out of the box,
as the RPM. I never encountered such errors with previous Mandrake distros.

Anyone with a tip about one of these problems?

Kind regards,

Yann
