At the command prompt you would type startx. This will bring up the default
xwindows session.

For display 0 use 'startx' from a terminal - C-A-F7 to switch to it
from another X. This is the default.
For a second X, KDE, you must use display 1, 'startx -- :1' from a
terminal - C-A-F

Two points:
1) I find that 'startx -- :1 &' is better: you then have access to the
text console if wanted; this can be useful.
2) Depending on system resourc
