/etc/sysconf/network
/etc/sysconf/draknet.netc
/etc/sysconf/network-scripts/drakenet_conf

all contain GATEWAY=192.168.0.154 lines, and while ppp is up for modem
connection to internet, 'route -n' includes a 192.168.0.154 line, that
is invalid as long as that machine isn't up. This is preventing the
browsers and email from reaching anything. I can't even ping other local
machines.

The reason the GATEWAY=192.168.0.154 exists is that on my home lan, when
machine 192.168.0.154 is booted, its modem makes the internet
connection, so all my other machines must go through it, as the internet
connection sharing machine.

Which config file controls the use/non-ue of a gateway when using
internet dialer in KDE? KDE Control Center doesn't appear to even have a
way to configure a gateway.

How can I configure so that the gateway is used only if it is reachable,
and ignored at other times? What simple way can I use to add or delete
the gateway as requied without doing any reconfiguration or restarting
the network?
