I had a problem like that when I first tried running Linux on my LapTop. It turned out to be a conflict of IRQ's and memory addresses. Especially with my sound card. run "cat /proc/interrupts" to see what IRQ's you are using and also try "cat /proc/ioports" to see if you have conflicts with me

My Gateway Solo laptop consistently hangs while online. This has happened with both Netscape and kfm under KDE. Once the machine hangs it will not respond to any key or the mouse and I have to hit the power button. I believe it has to do with either the PCMCIA driver, or X. Does anyone have
