I am encountering an odd problem with printing in Mandrake
6.1: after a job is printed, it is not deleted from the
spool so that it is printed again when the printer is next
used. The new print job then is *not* printed.
If it matters, the printer is a network printer (using lpd)
rather than one
Are the permissions under /var/spool correct?

If I remember correctly, there is a security flaw in .38 where people
could print documents they shouldn't be able to.

Still working on this, after backtracking to different
printtools, I ended up with a situation duplicated by a bug
(#449) for lpr; that user suggested retreating to lpr 0.38
and (as of now) I am printing again. Thanks to those who
replied.
But - why is it that any changes at all are made to

I reverted back to the lpr that comes with 6.1, which is .38 and it
worked fine.
Hope this helps.

I had the same problem. If you update your printtool to the latest from cooker
it should resolve your problem. But I had to remove my existing printer first
and delete it's entry in the /usr/spool/lpd area. Once I did that I updated
printtool and re-added the printer and it's been good ever since.
