[expert] lp doesn't delete jobs

I am encountering an odd problem with printing in Mandrake 6.1: after a job is printed, it is not deleted from the spool so that it is printed again when the printer is next used. The new print job then is *not* printed. If it matters, the printer is a network printer (using lpd) rather than one

Still working on this, after backtracking to different printtools, I ended up with a situation duplicated by a bug (#449) for lpr; that user suggested retreating to lpr 0.38 and (as of now) I am printing again. Thanks to those who replied. But - why is it that any changes at all are made to appar

I've encountered the exact same problem. If you are running .43 of lpr, then this is the solution that worked for me. I reverted back to the lpr that comes with 6.1, which is .38 and it worked fine. Hope this helps. -- To boldly code where no man has debugged before...

I had the same problem. If you update your printtool to the latest from cooker it should resolve your problem. But I had to remove my existing printer first and delete it's entry in the /usr/spool/lpd area. Once I did that I updated printtool and re-added the printer and it's been good ever since.
