I just bought Hancom Office last night. Now I await its arrival in the mail.
In the meantime, I downloaded the test drive Hancom Office 6.0 package and
installed it. MUCH faster than Staroffice/Openoffice and other than the
annoying letters in parentheses with every command/menu title, etc,

So I'll have a look over the rim and check out Hancom Office (included in

My personal opinion is that exposure to HancomOffice takes a lot of the
shine off of OpenOffice/StarOffice. It's not free

StarOffice is based upon OpenOffice, so they are a lot alike...
i don't know
I would DEFINITELY go with StarOffice. You cannot get
the 6 beta anymore, unless you know someone with it.
I just tried the latest Openoffice and, damn, it was
buggy and slooow. DAMN slow. I ended up
reinstalling StarOffice 5.2. It is faster and has
more working features/few bugs.

True.
It may be worht pointing out that Sun recently announced that when the
6.0 official release appears, they will be charging for it

version due out this spring.
However, be warned, rumor has it

This is pathetic. The main problem/complaint with the
original StarOffice was its size with all apps packed
into one superapp. Very slow to start up initially
but not so bad once started.
Now, the whole big monolithic thing has been split
into individual apps but it really is no faster

StarOffice is merely OpenOffice.org with a few enhancements. Besides a database,
these enhancements are
What are you talking about? Star Office is completely free for Windows,
Linux, and Solaris, just go and see at their site. Star Office is a
nice program, and it offers a lot of functionality, and although
GPL/OpenSource is nice, it's hard to beat old fashioned private interest
and capital
