On the same machine? As Iunderstand it, it uses all idle CPU processes,
so more than one per machine is useless. right?

but i dont run minr in idle they are running now as i type

I run two instances of setiathome, which I renamed setiathome1 and setiathome2,
on a dual-processor machine. Running more than one instance of setiathome in a
single-processor machine is useless, for all instances will be competing for
nice cycles.

Not if you're running it on a SMP-box. And there's some
with those switches.

No you don't. xseti is not needed for a correct operation of setiathome. It's
just some graphical output that slows down your computer while drawing nice
graphics.

Hmm...I recently downloaded the latest SETI binary and it
CAME with something called xsetiathome. I
its shipped onl with certain versions -- the i386 should come with it.
