I have built the driver and got the card working but I'm curious about how to automate the process to install the driver, after it has been built, using the Mandrake 8.1 Control Center Networking utility. When I tried to do it this way, it tried to install the driver for the Cisco 4500 which failed, of course. So, what directory does the network configuation utility use to select drivers to try insmod'ing so that the proper driver can be selected? Or is there a file that needs to be modified that instructs the networking utility to select from a pool of drivers? Or do both conditions have to be met? I installed the driver by insmod airo.o and by adding insmod airo.o to the rc.local script so that it will be automatically installed at each boot up.
