Ok - it may be bad form to reply to my own message, but I'm tired and I must note that the change I just suggested is a kludge that will only work reliably if you have compiled the supermount module for both 2.2.x and 2.4.x kernels. A bit more creativity is required if you want it to work for

Or, alternatively, uncomment the whole code-block that is responsible for disabling supermount. I for one hate mandrake's obsession with modules. Had the same problem when I compiled supermount into the kernel instead of compiling it as a module. Mandrake assumes that if it ain't a module, it

I have posted a few times on this already. Basically, the file mandrake_everytime in /etc/rc.d is a script that is run on each bootup. In that script, there is a section that checks for the existance of supermount, and if it cannot find the supermount.o module in the appropriate place for the
