come on guys,

chill out...

This is the sort of fragmentation that will help remove our rights whereever
we live..

The issue was raised, everyone on the list know knows whats going on and we
are on an expert list and must therefore at least know how to use google :-)
so if anyone wishes to discuss it further, there is plenty of info and
places for it.

yes it sux, yes it needs to be addressed, those that will, will.. but name
calling and stuff will not further our cause, and in-fighting is counter
productive as well..

we all are here because we share common traites, we either love linux, or we
use it for work etc...

stick to the good stuff on this list, the last thing we need to become is
like the redhat lists... (or any of the elitist lists) there are far less
RTFM's or STFW's on this list then nearly any other I have been on, and even
though this list strays from the path more, its still better as a result.

normally this list is a perfect example of the open source community sharing
and helping each other.. but we seem to get nasty very easily, and that
works against the open source movement.

If you all really want to do something, put up web sites, about paladium's
potential downsides, and make them all link to each other, submit to search
engines etc... if 1000 people did this, the result would be that most
searches for paladium etc would get one of these pages first... Then send
links to all the relevant congressmen etc in all countries wether its
relevant or not, just to get it into their heads in a negative light, so
when it does become an issue in your country,, they will already be against
it... (we can hope anyway..)

Anyway, my real message here is to just chill out.. relax and get back to
linux issues, after all, making linux better and more useful and as a result
more popular is the best tool we have... if more people use it, it will be
much harder for pollies anywhere to shut down.

First of all, I don't see Dr John as being in an argument. He stated
his opinion of Todd's executive order, as is his right. Second, if you
are so all fired blown up about this thread and "moving the discussion
elsewhere," then it seems that you would have posted this message to Dr
John privately. You did not do that; therefore you yourself are
inconsistent with your own statements, as you are now an unnecessary
participant in said discussion.

Perhaps not. But it IS A LINUX FORUM. And without Linux, there will be
no linux forums.
