Is there a LUG near you? That might be a good alternative. (Of course,
buying the cd from mandrake would also work ;-)

I think you want the 'image is on disk' option in the install stuff.

which format of partition? If its mountable by the boot disk, and
the ole 'image is on a filesystem' option still works, then you boot
the boot floppy (or, be sure to get dosutils and images out of the
root dir (which you need anyhow!) and use autoboot.bat to boot direct
from windows (with caveats - see autoboot info)).
